Drunken Dumpling

You have probably seen Drunken Dumpling’s XL XLB (extra large xiao long bao) on Instagram. If you haven’t, you probably don’t use Instagram. These jumbo soup dumplings contain pork, shrimp, scallops and crab are what put Drunken Dumpling on everyone’s radar, but all of the other dumplings should not be underestimated. DD (and no, we are not talking about Dunkin Donuts) doesn’t waste their time or energy on noodles, soups or any other dishes and only serves dumplings and two types of buns. This means they have had time to perfect the flavor and texture of every dumpling that reaches your mouth. Just like their East Village neighbor, Mimi Cheng’s, DD uses organic ingredients from local farms.

Here is the full menu (its written in chalk so that implies that it can be changed at any moment):

XL XLB: A huge pocket of joy. The dumpling comes with a plastic straw to slurp up the juice inside but I suppose you could BYOMS (bring your own metal straw) instead.

Even if these shrimp with wood ear mushroom dumplings tasted bad (which they definitely do not), we would order them just to admire their bright pink color.

These pork soup dumplings might nit be XL in size but they are XL in flavor. Get them, you won't regret it.

Drunken chicken dumplings. Objectively the best dumplings here. Did they name the restaurant after this dumpling? Even if they didn't we are going to pretend they did because these dumplings are THAT good.
