Buddha Bodai

Regardless of it you are vegan/vegetarian or not, this is a Chinatown must-try. Everything here is veggie or made with mock meat. They have a large menu full of dishes ranging from shark fin soup to sesame chicken to fried spring rolls to BBQ meat noodle soup. All of the traditionally vegetarian dishes (veggie dumplings, vegetable pan fried noodles, braised bean curd skin, etc.) are great but we recommend trying dishes that are typically made with meat because you won't find such a large variety of mock meat dishes anywhere else and you will be surprised at how realistic many of the fake meat dishes taste. You should also be sure to visit before 4 pm so you can order off of the dim sum menu, which we think includes some of the best dishes and dumplings.

Steamed green jade dumplings (also happens to be gluten free)

Steamed home style dumplings (once again, gluten free)

Wonton soup (better than any meat-filled wontons we've ever had)

Mushroom (left) and spinach (right) rice rolls. Not dumplings, but we felt the need to include them

TURNIP CAKES!! YOU MUST ORDER THESE
